Smoke Fastpitch Softball of Livermore
Smoke Fastpitch 14u ended 2017 the year by spreading holiday cheer. Today, they gave the greatest gift one could give, their time. We presented some lovely senior citizens with two gift baskets full of goodies and snacks to keep them busy. They played card games, made puzzles, worked on word searches and enjoyed hot chocolate with the residents. They even got to take pictures with Livermore’s Softball Grandma. đđ
Our girls are fighters! Saturday’s pool play did not go the way everyone wanted for sure. 10U Booe got beat in the worst way possible in the first game against the Fresno Outlaws(2-8). The second game provided a little redemption with a 15-1 win against Lady Venom. Then, the night game was a hard battled back-to-back game against Salinas Wildcats (5-6).
Sunday was a new day and a new team! The team squeezed by with a 7th seed into the Gold Bracket and set the stage for a day full of paybacks.
In the first game, the team beat number 2 seed, Salinas Wildcats, home with a 6-4 win. Then, in game two, they sent home number 6 seed, Fresno Outlaws (4-3) and then took the trophy home after beating the number 1 seed Tuff Enough(12-4)!
On Sunday, the bats were hot and the pitching was lights out. All three teams we played were 11-year-olds and will have to move up to 12u next year. But not us Smoke 10U!
Good luck to our three old ladies! P, Saucy and Reag..Kick some butt in 12u next year. You all really stepped up when we needed you the most.
Thank you, too al the parents! It was a great fall season and we are so proud of you all!

Now onto 2018!
10U – Booe played in the California Fall State Championships this weekend. We went 3-2 and placed 3rd out of 10 teams in the gold bracket. The competition was the toughest yet. In every game, we were behind. The girls proved that the game is never over with one walk-off win and two comebacks in the last inning.
The two losses we had were still hard fought with girls coming off the bench with big hits. We will compete in our last tournament of the fall season in 2 weeks.
2 more weeks until our 3 âold ladiesâ have to move up to 12u.

14U – Castro played in the Turlock Halloween Classic in Modesto this weekend. Smoke Fastpitch went 4-1 to fall short in the championship game. It was a tough loss, but we are proud of them.
